The agricultural company ‘Zakhidnyi Buh,’ which has assets in western Ukraine, has launched a large-scale investment program to build the country’s first mill specializing in the processing of durum wheat. New Mill and Pasta Factory: Investments and Production Plans
As part of the project, the company is investing ₴1 billion in launching modern production. The opening of the pasta factory is scheduled for September of this year, and the mill for October. Initially, it was planned to process both soft and hard wheat on the same equipment, but in 2024, the concept was revised. Specialized equipment for grinding durum wheat has been purchased, which will significantly improve the quality of the flour and expand the production volumes of durum pasta. In the first stage, the enterprise will be able to process up to 80 tons of wheat per day.
Contract Farming and Export Strategy
To ensure a stable supply of raw materials, ‘Zakhidnyi Buh’ is implementing a contract farming program for durum wheat in collaboration with Ukrainian farmers. The majority of the produced flour will be aimed at export to European countries, where there is a high demand for quality products. A portion of the flour is also planned to be used for the production of premium pasta products in the domestic market.
