“Today, bus routes connect Ukraine with 218 cities in 25 countries in Europe. We have registered 1,090 routes, with nearly 700 carriers operating on them”

Main Directions and Demand for International Transport

The largest number of bus routes is registered between Ukraine and Poland — 368, followed by Moldova (180) and the Czech Republic (132). In terms of the number of final destinations, Poland (57 cities), Italy (39), and Germany (34) lead the way. However, the demand for international transport remains high, especially considering the closed airspace and restrictions on air travel, so it is not yet fully satisfied.

Among the countries with the greatest potential for launching new routes are Moldova, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Germany, indicating the possibility of further expansion of bus connections.

Plans for Industry Development and Fleet Renewal

The Ministry of Development plans to continue the reform of international bus transport next year. One of the main directions will be the scaling of the electronic booking system for border crossings. It is also planned to simplify procedures for carriers, particularly regarding obtaining preferential loans for fleet renewal.

Statistics indicate growth in Ukraine’s bus fleet: from January to November 2025, the fleet was replenished with 2,421 buses (27% more than in the same period last year). Of these, 1,203 buses were new (+9%), while 1,218 were used (+50%). This confirms the active development of the industry and the renewal of transport vehicles.
