URIF: Strategic Support for the Ukrainian Economy
URIF was established under a minerals agreement signed by the U.S. and Ukraine in April. The fund began operations in December and focuses investments on the development of critical minerals as well as other strategic sectors of the Ukrainian economy. According to U.S. officials, the fund is expected to reach $200 million by the end of the current year, and Ukrainian representatives plan to announce the launch of the first three investment projects in 2026.
First Investments Coming Soon
“We look forward to reviewing project proposals and making our first investments in the coming months,” said Conor Coleman, DFC’s investment chief and board member of the fund.
DFC CEO Ben Black emphasized that the launch of the portal is a testament to U.S. President Donald Trump’s commitment to ensuring lasting peace in Ukraine. He highlighted that the new portal creates additional opportunities for reviewing projects and investments that align with the shared national interests of both countries.
