Discussion on User’s Legal Responsibility

An active discussion has emerged online regarding whether the user bears legal responsibility for the loss of funds due to their own signature on the phishing transaction. Some members of the crypto community believe that the user’s signature is confirmation of their consent to carry out the operation, regardless of whether they understood the consequences of this step.

“If they signed, it means they agree. This is the money of the contract owner. […] It doesn’t matter if I understood it then, I signed it.”

Status of the Hacker’s Wallet and Previous Cases

According to information from DeBank, the wallet belonging to the hacker currently holds 94.7 ETH, which is equivalent to nearly $300,000. This confirms that a large portion of the missing funds remains under the hacker’s control.

It is worth noting that recently, specialists from Cyvers also reported an incident in which a user lost approximately 2.6 million USDT due to a fraudulent scheme involving “spam transactions,” known as address poisoning. This indicates a rise in the activity of cybercriminals in the cryptocurrency sector.
