Ukraine Signs Important Agreements with Slovakia and Australia in Infrastructure and Finance

Ukraine is strengthening international cooperation by signing a series of strategic agreements with Slovakia and Australia focused on the development of infrastructure, financial, and labor interactions.

Cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia: Transport, Energy, and Defense

During intergovernmental consultations, Ukraine and Slovakia agreed to amend the existing agreement regarding border crossing points. These changes are expected to increase capacity at the border, enhance the development of railway routes, and deepen integration into European transport programs. The parties also signed agreements on information exchange regarding labor mobility, as well as a memorandum on the placement of diplomatic missions and a joint roadmap for cooperation.

According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, the new agreements open a practical stage in defense cooperation between the countries. Additionally, Slovakia is allocating a package of energy equipment worth 500 million euros and 300,000 euros for the construction of shelters in schools in frontline regions.

“Defense cooperation between the states is reaching a new practical level,” noted Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

Ukraine and Australia: Tax Partnership for Attracting Investments

As part of the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank, Ukraine and Australia signed an intergovernmental Convention on the Elimination of Double Taxation of Income and Prevention of Tax Evasion. This document creates favorable conditions for the influx of Australian investments into Ukraine and strengthens economic cooperation between the countries.
