Interaction Between Ukraine and Europe in the Defense Industry

Experts emphasize that the combination of Ukraine’s combat experience and flexibility with the technological, financial, and production potential of European partners creates a strong foundation for effective joint arms production. There are already successful examples of such cooperation. For instance, thanks to funding from Denmark, over 300 self-propelled artillery systems “Bohdana” and about 100 towed howitzers “Bohdana-B” have been produced in Ukraine.

“Kyiv has unique combat experience and flexibility, while partners provide technologies, finances, and powerful manufacturing resources.”

New Projects in the Defense Industry

Another significant project is the opening of a factory in Ukraine for the production of 155-mm ammunition by Rheinmetall in partnership with Ukroboronprom. This step strengthens the country’s position in the market for modern arms production.

During the MSPO-2025 exhibition in Poland, the Ukroboronprom concern signed over 10 agreements for cooperation in the defense industry. Additionally, representatives of the enterprise are negotiating with the American company Lockheed Martin to expand cooperation in the aviation industry sector, particularly in the production of fifth-generation F-35 fighters.
