Canada and Ukraine have signed a Letter of Intent regarding the organization of joint production of defense products on the territory of both countries. Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov and Canada’s Minister of Defense David McGinty confirmed their intention to collaborate in this area to develop and enhance modern samples of defense technology.

Investments in Drone Production and Support for the Defense Industry
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Ottawa will allocate over $200 million for the implementation of joint defense projects, including the production of modern Ukrainian drones with the involvement of Canadian suppliers. Additionally, Canada plans to direct another $165 million towards multinational initiatives that include strengthening the capabilities of unmanned systems.
Humanitarian Support and Allied Assistance
In addition to defense projects, the Canadian government has also allocated additional financial assistance for humanitarian support for the Ukrainian civilian population affected by the war. Mark Carney emphasized Canada’s unwavering position on supporting Ukraine and assured continued commitment to the bilateral partnership.
