Exports from Germany to Ukraine Increased by 30% in the First Half of 2025

During the first half of 2025, export volumes from Germany to Ukraine rose by 30.2%, reaching €4.6 billion. At the same time, Ukrainian exports to the Federal Republic of Germany decreased by 4.5%, amounting to €1.52 billion.

Investments and Business Support During the War

According to experts, a number of German companies demonstrate that investing in Ukraine is possible even during wartime. Investment guarantees from the German federal government play a crucial role in this process. In the first six months of this year, seven new investment projects worth a total of €250 million have been approved in Ukraine, with an additional 31 projects currently under consideration.

The Eastern Committee of the German Economy has been providing centralized support through the Service Desk Ukraine mechanism for three years and regularly supplies up-to-date information to companies interested in participating in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

In December 2025, the eighth German-Ukrainian Business Forum will take place in Berlin, serving as an important platform for discussing economic cooperation between the two countries.

Changes in Trade Between Germany and the Russian Federation

In the first half of 2025, the volume of bilateral trade between Germany and the Russian Federation fell by nearly 13%. Imports of goods from the Russian Federation to Germany decreased by 37%, totaling only €667 million. Meanwhile, German exports to the Russian Federation declined by 6%, amounting to €3.5 billion.
