Sectors Contributing to GDP Growth
According to the minister’s assessment, in August 2025, Ukraine’s GDP growth reached approximately 5.3% compared to the same month last year. The main factors that ensured this growth were the activation of construction, the development of the manufacturing industry, and the increase in agricultural indicators.
“For September-October, Ukraine’s GDP growth is expected to be at 3–4%,” said Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev during the question hour for the government.
Forecasts for Year-End and 2026
The Ministry of Economy predicts further GDP growth in the second half of 2025. According to Sobolev, the implementation of international investment projects will be an important stimulus for economic development. In particular, about 200 million dollars planned for various projects in Ukraine should support sustainable GDP growth.
The ministry also expects that in 2026, the Ukrainian economy will grow by 2.5%.
At the same time, international financial organizations assess the prospects for Ukraine’s economic growth somewhat differently. The World Bank has revised its 2026 forecast from 5.2% to 2%. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has maintained its unchanged forecast at 5%, but on the condition that the war between Russia and Ukraine concludes.
