Russia Increases Maritime Oil Exports, Ukraine Attacks Energy Infrastructure

РФ збільшила експорт нафти морем, але Україна не здається та продовжує атакувати енергетичні потужності агресорки.

The maritime export of crude oil from Russian ports in the Baltic Sea has significantly increased after a brief impact from sanctions imposed by the Trump administration. According to analysts, from December 1 to December 10, 2025, there were 34 tankers recorded in the Baltic Sea with a total deadweight of 3.8 million tons, which is 35.7% higher than the figures for the same period last month. In November, maritime exports of Russian crude oil amounted to 10.1 million tons, which is 15.01% less compared to October, when this figure was 11.8 million tons. The transportation was carried out by 87 tankers, while in October there were 99.

Ukraine’s Attacks on Russian Energy Facilities

Ukrainian forces continue to carry out targeted strikes on the energy infrastructure of the Russian Federation. In the past two weeks, Ukrainian long-range drones have struck the oil extraction platforms of the Russian company “Lukoil” three times in the Caspian Sea. On December 15, a platform at the Korchagin oil and gas condensate field was damaged, leading to a complete halt in production at the site.

New Strikes on the Aggressor’s Strategic Facilities

In addition to attacks on maritime platforms, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck the Astrakhan gas processing plant, which is an important strategic facility for Russia. It is also known that due to an attack by Ukrainian drones, the “Slavneft-YANOS” oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region was forced to suspend production.

Trump’s sanctions against Russian oil had an effect only immediately after they were imposed. After that, the “fear” passed, and Russia increased maritime exports of crude oil from ports in the Baltic Sea, according to the “Black Sea Strategic Studies Institute.”
