Bessent emphasized that the U.S. government currently plans to expand the use of decentralized technologies, particularly in the areas of digital payments and computing. He noted that under President Donald Trump’s leadership, the authorities are actively exploring new opportunities in this field, which, in his opinion, will fully unlock the potential of blockchain.
Call to Business and Strengthening the Dollar’s Position
The Treasury Secretary urged business representatives to develop their projects specifically in the United States, to establish companies here, and to hire employees, which will contribute to the growth of the industry and the country’s economy.
“So create your companies here. Launch your protocols here. Hire your employees here,” the politician urged.
Previously, Scott Bessent expressed the view that concerns about the U.S. dollar losing its status as the leading global reserve currency are exaggerated. In his opinion, the spread of cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, on the contrary, has the potential to strengthen the position of the U.S. dollar in the global financial system.
