How the Infrastructure of Cities and Regions in Ukraine is Funded and Restored

Ukrainian cities and regions are actively updating their infrastructure thanks to government support and the attraction of credit resources. Significant financial assistance is directed towards the development of educational, medical, cultural, and housing facilities in various areas of the country.

Financing Lviv for Urban Infrastructure Modernization

The state-owned Ukrazbank has provided a loan of 650.5 million hryvnias to the Lviv City Council. The funds will be used to implement a comprehensive sustainable development project that includes the renovation of educational, medical, cultural, and urban infrastructure facilities. This initiative is part of the bank’s strategy aimed at supporting inclusive infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents of Ukrainian communities.

Restoration of Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Transcarpathia

The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated over 597 million hryvnias for the implementation of nine restoration projects in the Kharkiv region. More than 240 million will be directed towards completing the major repairs of three buildings of the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital, while an additional 357 million will go towards emergency restoration work in six apartment buildings in Kharkiv that were damaged as a result of shelling by the Russian Federation.

In Borodyanka, Kyiv region, the construction of a modern nine-story residential building has begun on the site of a high-rise that was destroyed by Russian troops in 2022.

“At the same time, the Cabinet allocated over ₴597 million for the implementation of nine restoration projects in Kharkiv region. More than ₴240 million will be spent on completing the major repairs of three buildings of the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital. An additional ₴357 million has been directed by the government to complete emergency restoration work in six apartment buildings in Kharkiv that suffered damage due to shelling by the Russian Federation.”

In Transcarpathia, solar power stations have started operating in twenty medical outpatient clinics. The installation of solar panels will allow healthcare facilities to function continuously even in the event of power outages and will strengthen the energy independence of the medical sector in the region.
