About 15% of adult residents in the U.S. would agree to work under an artificial intelligence system that distributes tasks and organizes work schedules. This is according to a survey conducted by Quinnipiac University in March 2026 among 1,397 Americans.

“Despite this, the overwhelming majority—80%—stated that they are not ready to be subordinate to an AI manager. This indicates a persistent skepticism about transferring managerial functions to algorithms, analysts believe.”

Implementation of AI in Business and Management

American companies are actively integrating artificial intelligence into their management processes. For example, Amazon is already using such systems to automate the functions of middle managers, while Workday has implemented digital agents to process and approve corporate expenses. Some firms, including Uber, are applying AI even at the top management level: engineers have created a digital model of CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, which prepares presentations.

Analysts point out that the automation of management is creating a new trend—the so-called “great leveling.” This means a gradual reduction in the number of management positions due to the use of AI, which could lead to the emergence of companies with minimal staff and highly automated processes.

Mistrust of AI and Concerns About the Job Market

Despite the rapid implementation of artificial intelligence, the level of trust in such technologies among U.S. citizens remains low. Only 21% of respondents stated that they trust information generated by AI most of the time, while 76% trust it partially or do not trust it at all.

Moreover, 70% of those surveyed are convinced that the further development of AI will contribute to job losses. Among those currently employed, 30% are already concerned that their profession may become obsolete due to technological progress.

At the same time, the use of artificial intelligence is growing: 51% of Americans use it to search for information, 28% for writing texts, and 27% for solving work and study tasks. However, as the authors of the survey emphasize, the increase in AI usage is accompanied not by a rise in trust but by heightened anxiety about the future.

It is worth noting that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has created a personal AI-based agent that helps him make management decisions in his role as CEO.
