Record Growth in Rapeseed Oil Exports
Exports of rapeseed oil from Ukraine from July to February of the 2025-2026 marketing year increased by 120% compared to the previous season, while export revenue from this product grew by 170%. In the first eight months of the season, shipments of rapeseed meal rose by 130%, with revenue increasing by 85%. Forecasts indicate that Ukraine plans to export 576,000 tons of rapeseed oil this season, which is 170% more than last year.
“At the same time, exports of rapeseed oil from Ukraine from July to February of the 2025-2026 marketing year increased by 120% compared to the same period last season, while export revenue rose by 170%.”
Dynamics of Sunflower Oil Exports
In the 2025-2026 marketing year, Ukrainian enterprises expect a 6.4% decrease in sunflower oil exports, amounting to 4.4 million tons. This is due to the lowest sunflower yield in the past decade, as well as a reduction in the area planted with this crop. However, despite the decrease in physical export volumes, revenue is increasing due to rising global prices for sunflower oil.
Experts emphasize that the increase in soybean and rapeseed processing has allowed the oil and fat industry to mitigate the impact of declining sunflower yields and ensure the stability of processing enterprises. Overall, oil and fat products remain a key component of Ukrainian exports, accounting for 19.2% of total goods exports, which corresponds to $7.737 billion.
