Benefits for Ukrainian Producers

Ukrainian farmers already adhere to many EU standards in the field of food safety. Integration into the Common Agricultural Policy will open new opportunities to enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian farmers in the EU market and strengthen food security across the entire European continent. EU representatives emphasize that Ukraine remains one of the key producers and global exporters of food, and its participation in the common policy will contribute to building a resilient European food system.

The EU Simplifies Rules for the Agricultural Sector

At the same time, the EU Council and the European Parliament reached a preliminary agreement to simplify the existing Common Agricultural Policy to stimulate the competitiveness of European agriculture. Under the new agreements, annual administrative costs for farmers are expected to be reduced by €1.6 billion, and for the governments of EU countries by €200 million.

“Ukrainian producers already comply with many EU standards regarding food safety. The next step is the integration of the agricultural sector into the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy. This will enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian farmers in the European market and strengthen food security in Europe.”
