In January-September 2025, the volume of passenger car imports to Ukraine reached nearly $4.17 billion, which is 27.4% higher than the figure for the same period last year. In September, Ukrainian importers brought in cars worth $581.9 million, which is 70% more than in September 2024.

Geography of Imports and Market Leaders
The main supplying countries for passenger cars remain Germany, the USA, and China. Imports from Germany increased by 50.5% to $739.7 million, resulting in its share of the import structure rising from 15.1% to 17.7%. Supplies from the USA amounted to $732.3 million, which is 18.4% more than last year. During this period, vehicles worth $517.2 million were imported from China, accounting for 12.4% of total car imports.
Structure and Dynamics of the Vehicle Fleet
The share of passenger cars in total goods imports for the first nine months of 2025 was 6.94%, compared to 6.4% in 2024. In September, Ukraine’s vehicle fleet was replenished with 5,200 cars with diesel engines, which is 10% less than in the same month last year. Among them, 1,100 were new cars (a decrease of 29%), while 4,100 were used (a decline of 3%).
Demand for gasoline cars shows the opposite trend: in September, Ukrainians purchased over 12,600 passenger cars with gasoline engines, which is 27% more than in September 2024. Among these, there were over 2,100 new units (+2%), and 10,500 used ones (+34%).
Throughout 2024, Ukraine imported passenger cars worth $4.39 billion (+8% compared to 2023).
