In July 2025, the Ukrainian automotive market is showing significant changes in the sales structure. Over the month, more than 5,500 diesel vehicles were registered. Of this number, 1,200 were new cars, which is 26% less compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the number of used diesel cars imported from abroad exceeded 4,300 units, which is 8% lower than in July 2024.

Change in the Share of Diesel and Hybrid Cars
In the segment of new passenger cars, the share of diesel vehicles in July was 18.7%, down from 25.5% last year. Among imported used diesel passenger cars, this share was 19.3%, 4 percentage points lower than last year.
At the same time, there is a growing popularity of hybrid cars. In July, Ukraine’s vehicle fleet was replenished with more than 2,600 hybrid passenger cars, which is 11% higher than last year’s figures. Of these, 52% were new, while in July 2024, this figure was 57%.

Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Segment
The light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment remains key for small and medium-sized businesses. In July, 3,400 such vehicles were purchased in Ukraine. This is 43% less than in July 2024, but 7.2% more compared to June of this year. The largest share of the segment was occupied by domestic resales – 57.9% of all transactions. Imported used light trucks accounted for 29%, while new ones made up 11.3% of the total number of purchased vehicles.
