AI Integration for the Public Sector
This project is the first under the OpenAI for Government initiative, which aims to utilize modern AI tools in the operations of U.S. government agencies. OpenAI will provide civil servants with support to enhance work efficiency and automate routine tasks. The company will grant the Pentagon access to its powerful models, including ChatGPT Enterprise and ChatGPT Gov, which will operate in secure environments.
Additionally, OpenAI specialists will develop specialized solutions for national security needs and will assist in launching pilot projects in collaboration with the Department of Defense.
Benefits of AI for the U.S. Defense System
The Department of Defense plans to use OpenAI’s innovations to automate administrative processes, optimize military access to medical services, conduct in-depth procurement analysis, and strengthen cybersecurity. All solutions will comply with OpenAI’s privacy policy and internal regulations regarding the use of artificial intelligence.
“The project with the Pentagon demonstrates the growing interest of government agencies in utilizing AI for management.”
Previously, OpenAI has collaborated with government entities such as NASA, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and leading national security laboratories, including Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore Labs.
The company also reported significant growth in annual revenue: in 2025, OpenAI reached $10 billion, nearly double what it was a year ago.
It is worth noting that the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, announced the use of artificial intelligence in the declassification of data regarding the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
