Who Invests in Crypto Assets
According to the report’s findings, the highest percentage of crypto asset owners is among men aged 18 to 49, where this figure reaches 25%. There is also a higher average among individuals with high income, college graduates, and political conservatives. Among all respondents, only 4% stated that they plan to purchase crypto assets in the near future.
In comparison, in 2018, only 2% of surveyed investors owned cryptocurrency, while in 2025, this figure among investors with portfolios over $10,000 rose to 17%.

Attitudes Toward Risks and Level of Awareness
The vast majority of respondents—64%—continue to consider crypto assets too risky for investment. The greatest skepticism is observed among Democrats, liberals, men over 50, and households with an annual income exceeding $90,000.
Regarding the level of awareness, only 35% of respondents stated that they are well acquainted with crypto technologies, while another 60% reported having only superficial knowledge, and 5% had never heard of them at all.
“While policymakers have begun to align cryptocurrency with the U.S. financial system, and consumer investment platforms could facilitate its broader adoption, this attitude indicates that ignorance of cryptocurrency and concerns about potential profitability continue to hinder it from becoming a mainstream investment,” the company stated.
Overall, despite the increase in the number of crypto asset owners and support from the new administration, Americans remain cautious about investing in cryptocurrencies.
It is worth noting that recently, the U.S. House of Representatives approved three key industry bills, one of which, aimed at regulating stablecoins, has already been signed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
