Viewer activity on cryptocurrency channels on YouTube has significantly declined. Analysts note that this drop is part of the normal market cycle, and some of the audience currently prefers macroeconomic topics and investments in precious metals.

Reasons for the Decrease in Interest in Cryptocurrency Content
Benjamin Cowen, founder of ITC Crypto, released data showing a sharp decline in views on cryptocurrency YouTube channels over the past month. According to him, this trend is not limited to YouTube but also affects other major platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), and impacts the entire cryptocurrency market infrastructure.
“Yes, but not this year.”
In response to the question of when the audience will return to 2021 levels, Cowen noted that significant growth in interest is not expected before 2027.
Market Analysis and Changing Focus of Investors
Experts emphasize that the decline in views is a typical signal of the end of the active phase of market development. It is during such periods of low attention that the foundation for future growth is formed. Additionally, over the past year, many investors have partially lost interest in cryptocurrencies as a source of income, instead focusing on macroeconomics, gold, palladium, and rhodium, which have shown better returns. For example, in 2025, Bitcoin decreased by 7%, while prices for precious metals rose.
Creators of crypto content also confirm the trend of declining views. Although activity has not completely disappeared, most authors do not see results comparable to the peak popularity in 2021.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that YouTube recently introduced payments in the stablecoin PYUSD for content creators in the U.S., which may serve as an additional incentive for authors.
