Consensys Activities and Its Flagship Products

Consensys is a large organization that encompasses a number of leading projects in the blockchain technology sector. The most well-known of these is the MetaMask crypto wallet, widely used for storing and interacting with cryptocurrencies. Among other important products, Andreoli highlighted the L2 network Linea and the API platform Infura. Over his four years at Consensys, Francesco Andreoli has made significant contributions to the development of these solutions.

He also emphasized the role of the DevRel department, describing it as a process of supporting and developing new teams that create innovative products. One of the recent significant events was Consensys’s acquisition of the key management and infrastructure solutions provider Web3Auth. This acquisition is expected to enhance the user experience of MetaMask by integrating authentication mechanisms typical of Web2.

Recommendations for Web3 Developers: Participating in Hackathons, Working with Feedback, and Team Collaboration

During his presentation, Andreoli shared practical advice for developers aiming to succeed in the Web3 industry. He urged them to actively participate in hackathons, engage with other professionals, and work diligently with feedback. Francesco particularly highlighted the use of modern tools, including artificial intelligence, which allow for the rapid creation of a minimum viable product (MVP).

“My main recommendation is to be at the center of events, participate in hackathons, meet and talk to other people. […] Now, with so many tools available, including AI, I believe it is possible to quickly go from zero to a minimum viable product (MVP),” said Andreoli.

He also stressed the importance of thoroughly documenting all stages of development and the ability to present the product to the target audience. Andreoli recommends that developers not shy away from receiving both positive and negative feedback, as it is crucial for the project’s development. Online hackathons, thematic forums such as Ethereum Magicians, and other discussion platforms can be utilized for this purpose.

Among the tools worth noting, Andreoli mentioned Cursor, pre-compiled repositories, and v0 from Vercel. At Consensys, significant attention is paid to diversifying workflows, especially in processing feedback. It is important to determine at what stage of development the team is and provide the necessary support, such as through accelerators or grants, as not everyone needs to participate in hackathons.

Speaking about hackathons, Andreoli emphasized that preparation plays a crucial role. Forming teams where each member is responsible for a specific area significantly increases the chances of success.
