Tether, the well-known issuer of the USDT stablecoin, authorized the issuance of another 1 billion coins on the TRON network on March 28, 2025. This decision is another step in the company’s strategy to bolster its reserves, as Tether last conducted a similar operation on March 19, issuing 1 billion USDT.

According to the company’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino, published on the platform X (formerly Twitter), the specified volume of stablecoins on Tron is only authorized, and the actual issuance has not yet occurred. These funds may be used for future issuance or for conducting swaps between blockchains.
At the time of writing, the market capitalization of USDT stands at 144 billion USD, with a market dominance of 61.9%. This is confirmed by data from TradingView.
Additionally, it is worth noting that on March 28, Circle also increased its reserves by 250 million USDC on the Solana network. It is important to highlight that on March 26, the market capitalization of USDC reached an all-time high, surpassing the 60 billion dollar mark.
