A Decade of HiveFest: Returning to Asia
In October 2025, the Hive blockchain community will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the HiveFest forum in the capital of Malaysia — Kuala Lumpur. The event, which has been held annually since 2016, is returning to Asia for the first time after the pandemic, bringing together representatives from the global ecosystem. Participants can expect an intensive five-day program that combines business activities and cultural experiences.
The festival’s roots trace back to the SteemFest conferences, and since 2020, following the launch of the Hive blockchain, the event has adopted a new format and name. During this time, HiveFest has taken place in various cities across Europe, North and South America, and during the pandemic, it was organized in VR mode. Since 2022, after returning to an offline format, the forum continues to strengthen the tradition of international meetings, emphasizing the community’s openness to new participants.
“Since the first informal meetup, the number of participants has significantly increased, and now HiveFest has transformed into a large-scale festival of ideas, technologies, and decentralized projects,” organizers emphasized.
Event Program and Opportunities for Participants
This year’s forum will be held under the slogan Tropical Surge. Participants will be offered not only conferences but also themed city tours, introductions to local culture, and a modern view of Kuala Lumpur. This is the first Asian HiveFest since Bangkok in 2019, aimed at attracting new representatives from the region.
The main two-day conference will take place on October 16 and 17 and will include presentations, panel discussions, and workshops dedicated to the Hive ecosystem and Web3. There will also be talks from developers, content creators, and entrepreneurs working with decentralized applications (dApps). Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to participate in workshops on developing and implementing Hive-based applications.
Besides the main program, participants will have the chance to join additional activities: tours, informal meetups, and parties, including:

Registration is already open — tickets can be purchased with HIVE or HBD tokens without additional fees. Thanks to funding from Hive DAO and partners, participation is partially subsidized. Several ticket categories are available — from basic to supporting, making the event accessible even for newcomers.
The main hotel for the event is the Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel in the Bukit Bintang area, where group discounts will be available for guests. Many participants plan to combine their attendance at the forum with travel around the region.
