Improving transport accessibility and freight transport

The planned investments aim to enhance road safety, reduce travel times for residents of border areas, and increase the speed and efficiency of freight transport across the border. Four projects related to the modernization of regional roads have already been identified, along with one project for updating rail infrastructure.

Grants for environmental initiatives and prospects for further cooperation

Additionally, the Small Projects Fund will provide opportunities to receive EU grants ranging from €20,000 to €90,000 for initiatives aimed at material reuse, energy conservation, and sustainable living. The application process for these grants will begin in the first half of 2026.

These investments will improve traffic safety, reduce travel times for residents, and make freight transport faster and more efficient.

In addition to current projects, negotiations have already begun regarding the continuation of Polish-Ukrainian cross-border cooperation for the period of 2028-2034, creating additional prospects for the development of border infrastructure and partnerships between the countries.
