Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with ambassadors from European Union countries, during which extensive changes in the management of Ukraine’s energy enterprises were discussed. During the meeting, diplomats were introduced to new initiatives aimed at increasing transparency and the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures in the energy sector.

Reform of Supervisory Boards in State Companies
Svyrydenko emphasized the importance of involving international experts in the process of renewing the supervisory boards of energy state companies. She reported that the Ukrainian government has invited European partners to participate in this process and provide their suggestions for candidates, particularly at the first stage — for the supervisory board of “Energoatom”.
“We called on our partners to join the process and provide candidate suggestions, at the first stage – for the supervisory board of ‘Energoatom’,” the Prime Minister informed.
Additionally, the Cabinet of Ministers has already opened a competition for the positions of members of the supervisory board of Naftogaz of Ukraine. The updated composition of this board is to be formed by January 20, 2026. An unscheduled competition for candidates for the supervisory board of NAEC “Energoatom” has also been announced.
Financial Support and Budget Needs
During the negotiations, Yulia Svyrydenko drew the attention of European diplomats to Ukraine’s critical financial needs in 2026. According to her, to ensure the stable functioning of the state and to overcome the challenges facing our country, support in the amount of €60 billion is necessary.
