Switzerland Invests $95.6 Million in the Restoration of Ukraine’s Railways and Housing

Switzerland is providing Ukraine with financial support amounting to 76 million Swiss francs (approximately $95.6 million) for the implementation of large-scale projects aimed at restoring housing and railway infrastructure. The funds are directed towards the implementation of several initiatives that are crucial for the reconstruction of affected regions.

Key Projects in Transport and Housing

  • In the city of Kremenchuk (Poltava region), a modern factory for the production of fasteners is planned to facilitate the transition to European gauge. Additionally, the production of contact wires necessary for the further electrification of Ukraine’s railways will be established here.
  • In Vinnytsia and the Sumy region, the construction of modular houses will begin to accommodate internally displaced persons who have lost their homes due to hostilities.
  • In Kharkiv, as well as in several other frontline regions, window replacements will be carried out in buildings that have been damaged as a result of attacks by Russia.

Preparation for Project Implementation Has Already Begun

All of the mentioned initiatives have already been included in the Unified Project Portfolio, allowing for their implementation to commence without delays. Currently, preparatory work is underway, and the start of project implementation is scheduled for October 2025.
