In the first half of 2025, large and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine demonstrated significant profitability growth. During this period, the total profit amounted to 555.7 billion hryvnias, which is 3.4 times higher than the total losses incurred. Accordingly, 74.3% of these companies ended this period with a profit.

Key Sectors with the Highest Profits
The largest profit volumes were recorded in the industrial sector – 203.8 billion hryvnias. In second place were companies in the insurance and financial sectors with 167.9 billion hrynias in profit, while third place was taken by enterprises in trade and vehicle repair with 87.2 billion hrynias.
At the same time, the total losses of large and medium-sized companies for the first half of 2025 amounted to 126.9 billion hryvnias. The largest losses were suffered by industrial enterprises (74.4 billion UAH), companies in the trade and vehicle repair sector (18.5 billion UAH), as well as transport, warehousing, postal, and courier activities (18.2 billion UAH).
State of State Enterprises
As of July 2025, there were 1,568 state enterprises registered in Ukraine, of which 331 published financial statements for the previous year. Their total profit in 2024 exceeded the 2023 figure by almost twofold, amounting to over 16 billion hryvnias. At the same time, 274 state companies reported losses totaling 6.7 billion hryvnias.
The highest profitability is demonstrated by enterprises in the manufacturing and transport sectors, predominantly registered in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa regions.
Meanwhile, the largest total losses – 2.4 billion hryvnias – were incurred by 16 state enterprises operating in the “Mining Industry and Quarrying” sector.
