Coal Energy S.A. plans coal extraction in Poland through cooperation with Siltech

The coal company Coal Energy S.A., registered in Luxembourg and with primary assets in Ukraine, which are currently under Russian occupation, is negotiating coal extraction in Poland. According to information published on the Warsaw Stock Exchange website, in April the company signed a letter of intent with the Polish mining company Siltech.

According to the document, the main objective of this agreement is to prepare for obtaining a license for coal extraction from deposits located near those owned by Siltech.

“The primary goal of this letter of intent is to advance Coal Energy’s plan to apply for a license to extract coal from deposits adjacent to those owned by Siltech”

The lease of Siltech’s assets is expected to begin at the end of 2025, after Coal Energy receives all necessary permits to commence coal extraction from the licensed deposits. The company intends to utilize the existing mining infrastructure owned by Siltech to organize the extraction.

It is worth noting that Coal Energy’s shares have been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since August 8, 2011, and its main activities include coal extraction from two underground mines and working with coal dumps in the Donetsk region.
