According to the results for January–April 2025, the industrial production index in Ukraine decreased by 6.1% compared to the same period last year. According to official data, the most significant changes were recorded in various industrial sectors.

Dynamics in Specific Industries
Despite the overall decline, there was a growth of 9.5% in metallurgy and the production of finished metal products. At the same time, the extraction of metal ores decreased by 4%. In the mining and processing industries, the overall figure fell by 6.1%. A particularly significant decline was recorded in the mining industry and quarrying — a decrease of 15%. The processing industry lost 2.1% of production volumes.
Situation in the Energy Sector and Dynamics for April
The electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector also experienced losses — volumes decreased by 6.3%. Electricity production fell by 7.8%, while its distribution decreased by 6.8%.
At the same time, in April 2025, industrial production increased by 9.2% compared to March. However, compared to April 2024, the figure was lower by 6.4%.
“In metallurgy and the production of finished metal products, production increased by 10.1% compared to March and by 4.6% compared to April last year, while the extraction of metal ores increased by 2.9% against March but fell by 2.2% compared to April last year.”
Thus, despite some signs of recovery in certain industries in April, the overall dynamics of industrial production in Ukraine remains negative.
