Kharkiv Center ‘Enerhostal’ Sold for 40 Times More: Next in Line is Kyiv’s ‘Kvant’ Plant

Центр металургійної промисловості "Енергосталь" у Харкові продали власникові мережі аптек за ціною у 40 разів більшою за стартову. На черзі – оборонний завод у Києві.

The Ukrainian scientific and technical center of the metallurgical industry ‘Enerhostal’ in Kharkiv was privatized during a repeat auction organized by the State Property Fund of Ukraine on September 5. The winner of the bidding was the company ‘Gamma-55’ from Kharkiv, whose owners control the pharmacy network 911, operating throughout Ukraine. The buyer offered over ₴209.11 million, which is 40 times the starting price of the asset.

Details of the Sale and Financial Status of ‘Enerhostal’

As of March 31, 2025, the overdue creditor debt of ‘Enerhostal’ amounted to ₴87.85 million. An auction for the privatization of this asset had been held earlier but was deemed invalid, after which the starting price of the lot was halved to ₴5.23 million. Despite this, the repeat auction brought significantly greater revenue to the state.

New Auction: ‘Kvant’ Plant in Kyiv

Currently, the State Property Fund has put up for sale a controlling stake in the ‘Kvant’ plant in Kyiv, which constitutes over 73% of the company’s charter capital. The auction is scheduled for September 25 with a starting price of around ₴173 million. The ‘Kvant’ plant was declared bankrupt in 1998, but in 2011 it became part of the ‘Ukroboronprom’ concern. In 2016, the court terminated the bankruptcy proceedings.

“The privatization of the controlling stake could provide the plant with a chance to attract new investments and modernization. For the state, this is a way to bring funds into the budget and enhance the transparency of managing defense assets,” noted the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
