New Gemini Features in the Chrome Browser
From now on, every Chrome user in the U.S. can take advantage of Gemini by activating it through the icon in the upper right corner of the browser. The AI allows users to analyze information on the current page, tailor quotes to individual needs, and quickly explain complex materials. One of the key innovations is the ability to work with multiple tabs simultaneously: this enables users to compare data, organize tasks, plan trips, or create shopping lists for equipment.
Additionally, soon Gemini will receive a feature to restore previously viewed pages without needing to access the browser history. Users will simply need to ask about the desired website or article — and Chrome will return them to that resource.
Integration with Google Services and New Agent Features
The AI technologies of Gemini are already being integrated with other Google products, including YouTube, Maps, and Calendar. This allows users to find video snippets, schedule meetings, and perform other actions without leaving the browser. In the future, Google promises to expand the capabilities of the AI agent: automating routine tasks, from ordering groceries to booking services, will become even easier, with cart management and payment options directly in the browser.
“AI in Chrome is set to become not just a search assistant, but a full-fledged agent that takes on real tasks.”
Another innovation is the AI Mode in the address bar. Now, users will be able to ask complex questions in a dialogue format and receive structured answers directly in the search field. For example, instead of a standard query like “best mattress,” users can specify characteristics and continue the dialogue with the AI for more detailed information.
AI Mode will be available at the end of September 2025, initially only for residents of the U.S., but will later be expanded to other countries and languages.
Furthermore, Chrome will begin to automatically suggest relevant questions related to the page, speeding up searches and allowing for quick AI-generated summaries. Google emphasizes that the agent features of Gemini will be gradually implemented over the next few months, transforming Chrome into a universal digital assistant.
