Concerns About AI’s Impact on Creativity and Relationships

During the survey, which included over 5,000 adults in June 2025, 53% of respondents expressed concerns that the implementation of artificial intelligence could undermine creative thinking, and one in two believes it will negatively affect human relationships. In contrast, only 16% expect an increase in creativity, while 5% hope for strengthened connections between people.

“More than half of those surveyed believe that the spread of AI causes them concern, and only 10% feel inspired.”

At the same time, 57% of Americans admit they do not feel in control of how artificial intelligence is entering their daily lives. While 73% agree to the use of AI for performing routine tasks, 61% desire more opportunities to influence its application in their field.

Younger Generations are More Pessimistic About the Future of AI

The study also revealed significant differences in attitudes toward AI between generations. Younger Americans, under 30 years old, are more likely to believe that technology can negatively impact creative thinking (61% compared to 42% among those over 65). Additionally, analysts emphasize that vulnerable groups, including minorities and people with disabilities, are more likely to highlight the risks of exacerbating biases and stereotypes through generative models.

Global trends also indicate a decline in trust towards companies developing AI, although the benefits of technology are acknowledged in many countries. More than half of Americans can no longer confidently distinguish between content created by humans and that generated by artificial intelligence.

Despite this, U.S. citizens are willing to entrust AI with certain tasks: 73% are in favor of using technology for weather forecasting or combating financial crimes, but they are firmly opposed to its use in matters of faith or assessing romantic compatibility.

There is also a growing demand for government regulation in the field of artificial intelligence. According to Gallup-SCSP, 72% of Americans support increased oversight of this industry, seeking to benefit while avoiding fundamental risks.

Earlier, an Ipsos report noted that most residents of the U.S. fear job loss and political instability due to the implementation of AI.
