Representatives of the Ministries of Ukraine and Moldova held negotiations regarding the prospects for restoring railway communication between Odesa and Chișinău. The restoration of this route, considering the existing security risks, aims to improve transport accessibility and strengthen economic ties between the countries.

An important point of discussion was the restoration of the transit of Moldovan freight cars through the territory of Ukraine. The Ukrainian side confirmed that there are currently no restrictions on their movement. However, temporary difficulties in exchanging technical information were caused by a large-scale cyberattack on the information systems of “Ukrzaliznytsia,” which occurred on March 23, 2025. Active work is currently underway to restore stable system operations.
Furthermore, Ukraine and Moldova are interested in cooperating to ensure energy security. Issues related to the development of alternative gas and electricity supply routes, integration of energy markets, and coordination of cooperation with the European Union were discussed. Representatives of Moldova expressed a desire to use Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities to form their own gas reserves.
