Experts Predict a New Wave of Investments Between Ukraine’s Agricultural Sector and the EU

Експерти очікують на нову хвилю взаємних інвестицій між агросекторами України та ЄС.

Projects in Ukraine’s agricultural sector that are oriented towards European markets are actively developing. The President of the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business, Alex Lissitsa, noted that Ukrainian agrarians aim to collaborate with their colleagues from the European Union, particularly with partners from Romania, Poland, and Spain. This indicates that a new wave of investments from Ukraine to the European Union can be expected.

Lissitsa emphasized:

“On one hand, we expect Europeans to come to us, and on the other, our agricultural companies will most likely enter European markets. This is to be anticipated in the coming years.”

At the same time, he pointed out that European partners have clearly indicated that the continuation of autonomous trade preferences for Ukraine will not happen. Currently, there is no proposal from the EU regarding the resolution of this issue, which could lead to an automatic return to the terms of the 2015 free trade agreement. This will be accompanied by significant restrictions and quotas.

Moreover, Lissitsa noted that Ukrainian agrarians will need to compete with Russia in many international markets, which will pose an additional challenge for the development of Ukraine’s agricultural economy.
