Import of Agricultural Products to Ukraine Increased by 10% in the First Half of 2025

According to the results for January-June 2025, the volume of agricultural food product imports to Ukraine reached $4.26 billion. This is $398 million higher than the same figure from last year.

Leading Suppliers and Import Structure

European Union countries remain Ukraine’s main partners in agricultural product supply, accounting for over 52% of total imports, equivalent to $2.24 billion. Asian countries also made a significant contribution, providing over 19% ($820 million), while Latin America accounted for 8% of supplies ($351 million).

Among individual countries, the largest suppliers to Ukraine were Poland ($568 million), Turkey ($345 million), Germany ($322 million), Italy ($202 million), and the Netherlands ($200 million). Together, the top ten suppliers accounted for 55% of the total value of Ukrainian agricultural product imports.

Increase in Vegetable and Fruit-Berry Product Imports

The import of vegetables saw a particularly dynamic increase of 64% compared to the previous year, reaching $355 million. The value of imported fruit and berry products also rose by 14%, totaling $472 million.

The National Bank of Ukraine noted that due to unfavorable weather conditions, this year’s harvest of vegetable crops is expected to decrease by 11.5% (to 7.6 million tons), fruit and berry crops by 11.1% (to 1.8 million tons), and potatoes by 3.4% (to 19.4 million tons). At the same time, compared to last year, an increase in vegetable production of 11.5% and potatoes by 10.7% is expected, although the harvest of fruit and berry crops will be 12.4% lower.

In the ranking of major agricultural product suppliers, the leading positions are held by Poland ($568 million), Turkey ($345 million), Germany ($322 million), Italy ($202 million), and the Netherlands ($200 million).
