Kernel Agroholding Increases Grain Exports by 27% in the First Quarter of the Season

Один із найбільших вітчизняних агрохолдингів наростив експорт зерна на 27% на початку поточного сезону.

One of Ukraine’s leading agroholdings, Kernel, exported 1.3 million tons of grain in the first quarter of the 2025 financial year, covering July to September. This is a 27% increase compared to the previous quarter, although it is 15% lower than the same period last year. The growth in exports is linked to the start of the winter wheat harvest, which has become the main crop in the company’s supply structure.

Export Structure and Holding’s Freight Turnover

Wheat accounted for 74% of the total export volume, while the shares of corn and barley were smaller. In the structure of freight turnover, grain constituted 75%, food oils made up 13%, and the remainder was attributed to vegetable meals. This distribution demonstrates the priority of grains in Kernel’s production activities at the beginning of the 2025 season.

Impact of Weather Conditions and Sowing Areas

The agroholding noted that favorable price conditions in the grain market helped sustain exports despite uneven yields across regions. The 2025 season was marked by challenging weather conditions: a cool spring and summer with significant temperature fluctuations hindered plant growth in the northern regions, while a lack of rainfall in the central regions restrained the development of agricultural crops.

It is noted that favorable price conditions in the grain market helped compensate for uneven yields in different regions.

In 2025, Kernel sowed winter wheat on an area of 84,000 hectares and winter rapeseed on 38,000 hectares, confirming the scale of the company’s operations and its strategic focus on key crops.
