Ukraine is experiencing rapid growth in the craft food market, which increasingly impacts the economy of the country’s rural areas. Demand and Structure of the Craft Product Market

More than 400 producers have expressed interest in participating in the CraftUP Ukraine project, with about half of them taking part in a special survey. The most common areas of activity in this sector include the processing of milk, vegetables, fruits, and meat. In addition to traditional products, a notable niche is occupied by producers of hemp products, saffron, snails, and shrimp, indicating the diversity of products offered in the market.

Development and Prospects of Craft Production

The research shows that most producers have been operating in the market for over seven years, and more than half for over three years. Only 11% of respondents have less than three years of experience, highlighting the formation of a stable core in Ukraine’s craft sector.

Despite the positive dynamics, market participants emphasize the need for systematic support that will allow small producers to scale their businesses, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen their positions in both domestic and international markets.

With the continued development of initiatives like CraftUP Ukraine, craft production has the potential to become one of the drivers of economic growth in rural regions, contributing to job creation and improving the quality of Ukrainian products in the international market.
