The Number of Small Farms in the Agricultural Sector in Ukraine Has Increased

In the second quarter of 2025, the pace of registration of new agricultural companies in Ukraine remained almost unchanged compared to the same period last year – 490 new enterprises were registered, down from 496 the previous year. At the same time, there has been a significant increase in activity among individual entrepreneurs: their number in the agricultural sector rose by 52%, reaching 1,500 new individual entrepreneurs (up from 934 in 2024).

Regional Distribution of Agricultural Companies and Individual Entrepreneurs

As of the end of the third quarter of 2025, there are officially 82,900 agricultural companies registered in Ukraine. The largest number of enterprises in this sector operates in Kyiv (11,900), followed by Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. The number of registered individual entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector reached 116,100. The highest concentration of them is observed in Vinnytsia (9,500) and Dnipropetrovsk (9,200) regions. Significant activity among small farms is also maintained in Kharkiv, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia regions, despite the existing military risks.

Leaders in Agricultural Business by Revenue

The top five agricultural companies with the highest revenues for the first half of 2025 are:

  • “Vinnytsia Poultry Factory” (MHP) – ₴26.8 billion
  • “Eridon Company” – ₴22.8 billion
  • “Myronivska Poultry Factory” (MHP) – ₴12.8 billion
  • Louis Dreyfus Company Ukraine – ₴11.5 billion
  • “Lebedyn Seed Plant” – ₴9.3 billion

Of the 116,100 registered individual entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, the largest numbers are in Vinnytsia (9,500) and Dnipropetrovsk (9,200) regions. Following them are the major agricultural regions of the east and south, including Kharkiv, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia regions, where high activity among small farms is maintained despite military risks.
