A new bridge over the Danube River is planned to be constructed in the southern part of the Odesa region, which will be an important component of a major transport corridor between Ukraine and the European Union. It is known that the new bridge will be located in the village of Orlivka in the Izmail district, and on the Romanian side, it will lead to the city of Isaccea.

International Route and Strategic Importance
The bridge construction project has already been included in the Recovery and Development Strategy for the Odesa region for 2025–2027. The planned crossing will be part of the international transport route E87, which connects Ukraine with countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. Thanks to the new bridge, the distance to the city of Isaccea will be reduced by approximately 80 kilometers, significantly improving logistics and increasing the capacity of the southern region.
Funding and Implementation Stages
To implement the infrastructure project, it is planned to attract over 12.6 billion hryvnias in international financial assistance. Over three years, the funding will be allocated as follows: in 2025, 1.26 billion hryvnias will be allocated, in 2026 – nearly 3.8 billion, and in 2027 – over 7.5 billion hryvnias. Project and environmental studies are planned, along with the construction of the bridge itself and access roads, the establishment of checkpoints, and their connection to international transport routes.
