European Reconstruction Leaders: Energy and Building Materials

Companies that have already gained momentum through large-scale infrastructure programs in Europe have significant potential to participate in recovery projects. Among them are cement giants Heidelberg Materials and Holcim, as well as equipment manufacturer for wind and solar energy Siemens Energy. By 2025, these companies strengthened their positions through increased investments in Germany, allowing them to be ready for the implementation of large-scale reconstruction projects in Ukraine.

Building Material Manufacturers and Infrastructure Solutions

Potential participants in the recovery process also include the Austrian company Wienerberger, which specializes in the production of bricks, plumbing pipes, and other building materials. Its factories are located in close proximity to Ukraine – in Poland and Hungary. This enables the company to promptly supply the necessary products for the restoration of residential infrastructure, particularly in the eastern part of the country, as well as for the modernization of water supply networks.

“According to experts, after the war ends, Ukraine will strive to make its energy system more resilient through decentralized renewable sources to more effectively counter potential new aggression.”

Overall, the reconstruction of Ukraine may become one of the main areas for investment by European companies in the coming years, opening up broad opportunities for the development of both Ukrainian infrastructure and for strengthening the positions of leading European manufacturers in the regional market.
