In 2025, ATB plans to acquire about 100 new stores and open 80. For comparison, the European discount retailer Lidl, which has 12,000 stores, operates in 33 countries around the world.
Development and Investments
Last year, ATB opened 47 new markets and renovated 11 of them. The corporation’s revenue for the year amounted to ₴208.9 billion. The investment in one new store is approximately $2.5 million. ATB focuses its operations in towns with a population of at least 10,000, also employing a unique strategy of placing stores at the exits of cities.
Energy Independence through Eco-Friendly Technologies
An important aspect of ATB’s development is investment in energy independence. By utilizing solar panels, the retailer will be able to save about ₴1.5 million per year for each store. For example, the solar power station at one store generates 50 kW per day, while the store itself consumes only 39 kW, with the surplus being fed back into the electricity grid for free.
ATB began installing solar panels in 2024, having already purchased panels with a capacity of 20 MW. This decision reflects the company’s commitment to becoming more environmentally oriented and reducing energy costs.
