Lviv Liquor and Vodka Plant Sold at Auction for Over $5 Million to Tenant

Львівський лікеро-горілчаний завод продали за понад $5 млн багаторічному орендареві.

The State Property Fund successfully sold the assets of the state enterprise “Lviv Liquor and Vodka Plant” at auction for 212.15 million UAH. The sole participant and winner of the bidding was the company “Lviv Liquor and Vodka Plant,” which had been leasing the enterprise for a long time. The initial price of the lot was set at 164.19 million UAH excluding VAT, while the price offered by the winner amounted to 176.79 million UAH, and with VAT – 212.147 million UAH (which exceeds $5 million at the current exchange rate). The plant produces alcoholic beverages under the brands Perlova, Lemberg, Premium Lviv, “Lvivska,” as well as vinegar. From 2022 to the first half of 2025, the sales volume of the enterprise’s products amounted to 670.9 million UAH.

Privatization of the Alcohol Industry: Key Stages

In December 2019, the President of Ukraine signed a law abolishing the state monopoly on alcohol production, which initiated large-scale privatization of the industry. By September 2020, the State Property Fund began selling alcohol plants, and on December 10, the first successful auction took place. As of November 2021, 30 enterprises had been privatized, and the total revenue from these sales exceeded 1.7 billion UAH, of which over 1.05 billion UAH went directly to the state budget.

Record Competition at State Property Fund Auctions

On November 28, the State Property Fund also sold the “Nauka” recreation center in the Odesa region. A record 74 bidders competed for this lot. As a result of the bidding, the value of the object increased nearly 109 times: from the starting 204,419 UAH to over 22.2 million UAH ($524,229). The winner is required to additionally pay 4.4 million UAH in VAT.

From 2022 to the first half of 2025, the sales volume of the enterprise’s products amounted to ₴670.9 million.
