“We are now global leaders in drone production. We are ready to share our experience with Japan and collaborate in production, for example, of drones,” he stated, adding that this would be “mutually beneficial.”

Drones for Civil and Defense Use

According to Andrii Sybiha, one of the key directions is the development and joint manufacturing of UAVs that can be used not only in the defense sector but also in the civil sector, particularly in agricultural production and reconnaissance operations. This opens up broad opportunities for implementing innovative solutions in the economies of both countries.

Support for Business, Digitalization, and Green Energy

During official meetings, the government delegations of Ukraine and Japan also discussed further expanding cooperation in areas such as support for small and medium-sized enterprises, development of digital infrastructure, promotion of green energy, and restoration of industrial potential. These steps are aimed at overcoming the consequences of the war and stimulating sustainable economic growth.

Japan remains one of Ukraine’s most important economic partners in the Asia-Pacific region and is also one of the largest donors helping to strengthen the resilience and defense capabilities of our state. In particular, Japan has provided over 15 billion dollars in aid to Ukraine and has implemented 27 packages of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
