Grants for Innovative Startups and Joint Hackathons

Participants in the program are expected to have the opportunity to attract funding for their projects. In particular, part of the funds will be allocated for organizing hackathons to find new technological solutions, as well as for creating special platforms to bring together scientists, entrepreneurs, and companies from both countries. This will enhance the exchange of experience and promote the implementation of modern defense technologies.

Program Implementation Structure and Prospects

The program will be coordinated by the defense cluster Brave1 from Ukraine, and by the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment (FFI) from Norway. The launch of Brave-Norway is planned for the end of 2025. The total budget for the program is €20 million – €10 million from each country. The grants provided by Norway will support developers of modern defense technologies. All innovative solutions will be tested in Ukraine, and if successfully implemented, they can be utilized by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The document lays the foundation for the creation of the joint Brave-Norway program, which will contribute to the development of defense tech startups and strengthen technological partnership between the two countries.
