A Strong Start for the Development of Innovative Technologies

Less than a year after signing a bilateral agreement, URIF has received over 200 investment applications, more than half of which have come from Ukrainian companies. The energy sector projects have generated the most interest, which is crucial for Ukraine. Other priority areas include the production of dual-use products, infrastructure, and the extraction of critical minerals.

“Less than a year after signing the bilateral agreement, the Fund has already made its first investment and received over 200 applications for consideration. More than half of them are from Ukrainian companies. The highest number of project proposals has come from the energy sector, which is key for Ukraine. Other priority areas include the production of dual-use products, infrastructure, and the critical minerals sector,” said Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

Investments for Defense Capability and Future Reconstruction

The Ministry of Economy emphasized that URIF’s first investment lays the groundwork for attracting new funds from private investors in the U.S. and other partners. This will not only strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability but also allow domestic technologies to scale for the American market and stimulate further development of UAVs. In addition to the defense sector, the innovations from Sine Engineering open up wide opportunities for commercial applications during the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, particularly for mapping agricultural lands, inspecting industrial facilities, as well as in logistics and transportation.

Economy Minister Oleksiy Sobolev reported that following meetings with representatives from the U.S. Treasury and State Department, American investors are most interested in projects related to energy, critical minerals extraction, infrastructure, and industry.
