After the robbers fled, the woman, despite suffering a shoulder injury, managed to free herself and helped her partner. She later sought help from a neighbor. According to sources, the woman sustained only minor physical injuries.

The Versailles prosecutor’s office confirmed the theft of cryptocurrency, but details of the investigation are currently not being disclosed. Increase in Cryptocurrency-Related Crimes in France

French law enforcement officials have noted an increase in violent crimes related to cryptocurrencies. From July 2023 to the end of 2025, the police investigated about 40 similar cases. Recently, several high-profile attacks on digital asset owners have been recorded in the country, including an attempted kidnapping of the head of the French office of Binance in Val-de-Marne.

Another notable case involved an attack in the Isère province, where a 74-year-old man was held and tortured for several hours, mistakenly believed to be a relative of a crypto millionaire.

It is worth noting that recently in the U.S., a former police officer kidnapped a teenager with the aim of obtaining $350,000 in Bitcoin.
