Kalshi and Polymarket Become Official Partners of the National Hockey League

Kalshi і Polymarket стали офіційними партнерами НХЛ

The crypto asset betting platforms Kalshi and Polymarket have signed multi-year licensing agreements with the National Hockey League (NHL), becoming its official partners. This is the first time a major American sports organization has entered into such an agreement with prediction markets.

Opportunities for Kalshi and Polymarket within the Partnership

With this agreement, Kalshi and Polymarket will have the right to use official NHL branding, including team names, tournaments, and competitions such as the “Stanley Cup.” Both platforms will also be able to promote their services during league games through digital information displays (DED) and virtual signage that will appear during game broadcasts.

Previously, Kalshi refrained from using the names of major sporting events due to the risk of lawsuits, although it has been operating officially in the U.S. for quite some time. Polymarket, on the other hand, returned to the American market only in early September 2025, and this agreement with the NHL will significantly enhance the company’s compliance policy.

New Trends in the Sports Betting Market

“As prediction markets continue to rapidly evolve, the partnership with two leaders in this sector, Kalshi and Polymarket, opens up enormous opportunities for maximizing fan engagement throughout the NHL season. Polymarket and Kalshi are ideal partners as this field continues to grow and expand,” said Keith Wachtel, President of NHL Business.

Analysts note that this collaboration could intensify competition for traditional bookmakers. In particular, DraftKings recently acquired the firm Railbird to respond to the growing pressure from prediction markets, expanding its presence in this sector.
