Implementation of Cryptocurrency Payments in Video Streaming

Rumble is integrating the new feature into its own digital wallet. Developers emphasize that this is one of the largest steps towards implementing crypto payments in the video hosting segment. The company estimates that over 51 million users will be able to send Bitcoin to content creators without intermediaries each month.

“A historic first at @LuganoPlanB – @thevivafrei became the first creator to receive tips through Rumble Wallet. Freedom meets finance👊”

The development of crypto tipping was carried out in collaboration with Tether and was presented at the Plan B forum in Lugano, Switzerland. The first successful Bitcoin transfer has already been made – it was received by the well-known Canadian blogger David Freiheit.

Digital Asset Strategy and Partnership with Tether

The implementation of the system is part of Rumble’s broader strategy to create its own digital asset infrastructure for creators and viewers. The company aims to make the rewards system global, independent of traditional financial operators.

In December 2024, Tether invested $775 million in Rumble, becoming a key strategic partner. The goal of the investment is to increase the platform’s audience to 100 million users in the U.S. and promote the new stablecoin USAT, which will also be integrated into the Rumble crypto wallet.

Additionally, the service is developing a strategy for managing Bitcoin reserves – the company previously acquired 188 BTC, demonstrating its position not only as a media platform but also as an active player in the digital finance sector.

Tether is confident that its partnership with Rumble will serve as an example of real-world cryptocurrency use in digital mass consumption services. The project aims to demonstrate how blockchain technologies contribute to decentralized content monetization models.

Furthermore, Tether previously announced the launch of an open toolkit called the Wallet Development Kit (WDK), which aims to facilitate the development of digital wallets.
