Developing Blockchain Infrastructure for Institutions

Tether has announced funding for the Parfin platform, which is focused on developing solutions for the storage, tokenization, and management of digital assets. This funding aims to significantly enhance the blockchain infrastructure in the region and provide tools for secure digital asset management for organizations and businesses.

“This investment reflects Tether’s commitment to supporting financial institutions in using USDT as a primary settlement asset for critical use cases,” the announcement stated.

Investment Goals and Development Prospects

The main goal of this agreement is to expand institutional use of USDT in Latin America. In particular, the stablecoin is expected to be utilized in areas such as cross-border payments, tokenization of real assets, and financial products like factoring and trade debt servicing. The Parfin platform offers solutions for institutions that meet regulatory requirements and can be easily scaled to business needs.

Tether’s CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized the importance of integrating traditional finance with blockchain technologies to broaden access to financial freedom. He highlighted that Parfin is actively working to eliminate barriers between these two sectors, and the investment in the company further confirms Tether’s belief in the potential of Latin America as a leader in blockchain innovation.

Additionally, Tether referenced data from the analytics firm Chainalysis: from July 2022 to June 2025, the volume of cryptocurrency transactions in Latin America is expected to reach nearly $1.5 trillion. This growth is attributed to the active participation of institutions in the crypto market and the impact of regulatory changes.

As a reminder, Tether’s net profit at the end of the third quarter of 2025 was $10 billion.
