Vanguard Discusses New Opportunities for Investors

According to sources, the company has already begun external consultations to assess the prospects of implementing trading of third-party cryptocurrency ETFs on its platform. Despite the rising interest in the crypto market, Vanguard currently does not plan to launch its own cryptocurrency products, unlike competitors such as BlackRock.

The Company’s Position on Cryptocurrencies

There is a possibility of providing brokerage clients access to selected ETFs on digital assets developed by other companies. However, specific timelines for decision-making, as well as the list of potential investment products, have not yet been disclosed.

“They are approaching this very methodically, understanding that the market dynamics have changed since 2024,” noted a source.

Until now, Vanguard has maintained a cautious stance on cryptocurrencies, refraining from active participation in this market segment, unlike Fidelity Investments and Charles Schwab. In August 2024, Vanguard’s CEO Salim Ramji stated that the company does not plan to launch its own cryptocurrency ETFs. At the same time, the possibility of client access to third-party crypto ETFs is currently being actively explored in response to market changes and client demand.
